Combined ADHD & Autism Assessment

One joined-up pathway for adults where both ADHD and autism traits are suspected — combining the DIVA-5, ADI-R, and ADOS-2 into a single process, with one written report and one feedback session.

Why combine the two?

ADHD and autism commonly co-occur, and traits of one can mask or mimic the other. A combined pathway means both are considered together by the same clinicians, rather than two separate assessments reaching two separate, disconnected conclusions.

What's included

How it works, step by step

  1. Free initial call

A short phone or video call to talk through what you're looking for, check the assessment is suitable, and answer your questions. Nothing is booked or paid until you decide to go ahead.

    15 minutes · No cost
  2. Pre-assessment forms

You'll receive secure online questionnaires covering your history and current experiences. Complete them at your own pace — there's no time limit.

    At your own pace
  3. DIVA-5 interview

A structured interview covering ADHD symptoms in childhood and adulthood, and how they affect different areas of your life.

Approx. 1.5–2 hours · By video
  4. ADI-R interview

A structured interview with a parent or someone who knew you well in early childhood, covering your development. This happens separately from your own sessions.

Approx. 2–3 hours · By video
  5. ADOS-2 assessment

A structured, interactive session with your clinician — in person where possible, or online. This is conversation and activities, not a test you can pass or fail.

Approx. 1 hour · In person or online
  6. Report & feedback

Your results across both assessments are reviewed jointly with [Partner Clinician Name] before a single written report is prepared. You'll then have one feedback session covering both conditions.

Before you book: the informant interview

The ADI-R component requires an interview with someone who knew you well as a young child — usually a parent — lasting around 2–3 hours. If no informant is available, please mention this on your initial call: we can discuss whether an assessment is still possible and what it would involve.

Is this assessment right for you?

This assessment is designed for you if…

  • You're an adult (18+) with suspected traits of both ADHD and autism
  • You'd rather go through one joined-up process than two separate assessments
  • You have someone who can complete the informant interview
  • You want a single report you can share with your GP, employer, or university

It may not be the right fit if…

  • You're under 18 — we assess adults only
  • You're only looking to explore one of the two conditions — the individual ADHD or autism assessments may suit you better
  • You're in crisis or need urgent mental health support

Not sure whether you need the combined pathway or a single assessment? That's exactly what the free initial call is for.
